Dubai recognized as the best city in terms of quality of life in the region

Dubai took first place in the quality of life in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa) in the ranking of the British consulting company Mercer. This year, Dubai took 77th place in the overall ranking of 215 cities in the world, rising by six positions compared to last year. The capital of the UAE, the city of Abu Dhabi, also climbed three lines up and took 84th place in the overall standings and second in the regional. At 111 places is the capital of Bahrain, Manama, which managed to climb 11 lines up. The capital of Kuwait has improved its position by 8 positions, the city of Kuwait, settling on line 125. The capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, stood at 159 line, four positions higher than the previous year. Another city of KSA, Jeddah, took 160th line, not a bit moving from the 2008 figures.

On a global scale, Vienna broke into the lead, this time leaving behind the Swiss Zurich. The last, 215th place, is the capital of Iraq, Baghdad. This year Moscow became the 168th, sharing the neighborhood with the capital of Laos, Vientiane, and the city of Cotonou, the largest center of the West African state of Benin. Kiev, which took 162 place, and St. Petersburg (164 place) were ahead of Moscow.
