The long-awaited Dubai metro station Jebel Ali is open

On March 11, in Dubai, the terminal station of the red line of the Dubai Metro - Jebel Ali Station was opened. According to the Dubai Committee for Roads and Transport (RTA), thanks to its opening, the total number of red metro stations reached 27. RTA experts expect Jebel Ali to serve 11,000 passengers per hour.

According to Mattar Al Thayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of RTA, this Dubai Metro station is designed primarily to serve the Jebel Ali Industrial Area, an industrial and free economic zone, in which 6600 companies employ about 129 thousand people. "Since the Jebel Ali Station is located at the endpoint of the red line, it has increased its length to 53 km," said Mr. Al Thayer.

During the hours of the morning maximum load, 27 trains will deliver passengers to the new station, during the evening hours - 29. Waiting intervals between trains will be from 6 to 8 minutes in the morning, and from 5 to 6 minutes in the evening. It should be noted that the total number of passengers using the Dubai Metro services from January to February of the current year amounted to 9.3 million people.
