Dubai hotel occupancy rate recognized as the highest in the world

The occupancy rate of Dubai hotels was fixed at 86.2% in January of this year. Thus, according to this indicator, the emirate hotels have become leaders in the world ranking, leaving behind Hong Kong, Sydney, London, Tokyo, Paris, Los Angeles, New York, Buenos Aires, Toronto, Madrid, Berlin, Beijing and Rome. Dubai has improved its own indicators: in 2009 and 2010, the emirate hotels held the seventh place in terms of occupancy, having gone down from fifth in 2008. Over the past five years, the number of rooms of its hotels has grown from 56.6 thousand in 2008 to 74.6 thousand rooms in 2012. These data were published in the STR Global report presented at the international exhibition ITB-2012 in Berlin.

The Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing of Dubai (DTKM) noted that in January the emirate's hospitality industry became the most "in demand" in the world among the 15 leading tourist destinations. At the same time, the average rental rate for a room in the emirate was US $ 269.9. Dubai only allowed Paris ahead of itself, increasing its own achievements from US $ 224 and US $ 218 in the previous two years. In terms of revenue per room, Dubai also became a leader (US $ 232.7), rising from the fifth position that it occupied last year.
