THE FAMOUS EMIRATIAN CINEMA DISTRIBUTOR "ITALIA FILM MIDDLE EAST" PROVIDED TO ALL READERS OF THE MAGAZINE "RUSSIAN EMIRATES" THE OPPORTUNITY TO WIN EXCLUSIVE T-SHIRTS FILM PREMIER TAKE PLACE IN THE UAE ON AUGUST 8.

Thanks to the materials provided by Italia Film Middle East, the editorial staff of the magazine became aware of interesting details, facts and figures related to the creation of the film, which we would like to share before announcing the names of the winners of the competition ...

  • In order to create the wonderful world of the “Lone Ranger” the way Gore Verbinski saw him, I had to assemble a rather impressive team. It included six stage designers, eleven decorators, two illustrators, one painter, many storyboards, two graphic designers, two fashion designers, a research coordinator, an assistant to the head of an art group and 274 builders.
  • To shoot the film, tailors sewed 1,500 costumes, made hundreds of hats, boots and all kinds of clothing items. Some accessories were rented from other movie companies. In addition, to "age" wardrobes, resorted to various tricks. For example, suits were pebbled in a concrete mixer, and individual places were “worn out” with kitchen graters. But sometimes dressers did not even shun gas burners.
  • The mask of the avenger and the fighter with injustice performed by Armie Hammer was carved from soft goat skin. To make it, they made a cast of Armie's face - to make sure that the contours of the face were repeated perfectly. Then the skin was softened in warm water, put on a cast and a couple of wrinkles were added to make the mask look more natural.
  • Before filming began, all the actors spent some time at the Cowboy Boot camp at a ranch in Albuquerque, New Mexico. There they learned to ride, shoot, handle the lasso, saddle horses and drive carts.
  • The fictional city of Colby was built specifically for filming in Rio Puerco: almost all 12 buildings, including the train station, stable, saloon, hotel, bank, sheriff’s office and various shops had all four walls.
  • On the territory of the cities of Colby and Promontori, about eight kilometers of a rail road were also laid. In some sections, the road bifurcated so that the director could shoot scenes with a moving train. Construction was carried out by the professionals of the railway and construction company Albuquerque Gandy Dancer.
  • In the process of filming, it was necessary to build three American nineteenth-century steam locomotives for several large-scale and spectacular life-size scenes. In almost no scene did these trains move at speeds less than 50 km / h, and sometimes 60 km / h.
  • William Fichtner, who brilliantly played one of the main villains and enemies of the ranger - Butch Cavendish, himself performed a trick in a scene in which his character jumps from the roof of a car moving at a speed of about 30 km / h onto a galloping horse.
  • James Jewell directed the Lone Ranger radio series, which at the time of its broadcast in 1938 became a national sensation. Jewell's father-in-law owned the KeMoSaBe campsite on Lake Mallet in Michigan. Obviously, the name of the campsite inspired the creators to see how Tonto (who first appeared in the eleventh episode of the series) called his pale-faced friend. Jewell also suggested using the theme of Joachkino Rossini’s overture from William Tell in the soundtrack of the series. In total, 2956 episodes of the "Lone Ranger" were broadcast. The last broadcast took place on September 3, 1954.
  • The Comanche Warrior Village was built in the green valley of the crater of an extinct volcano with a diameter of 19 km. This place has the status of a national reserve called "Valles Caldera".
  • In the dead horse gorge, the famous "plateau of spirits" is located - a rock with a relatively flat platform, which in one of the episodes rescued Tonto John Reed woke up. At the top of this rock was built a high ritual platform about five meters high, which swayed in the wind with an amplitude of one meter. Armie Hammer really had to stand on this structure, while under it there was a gaping abyss 600 meters deep.
  • Upon completion of the film, it turned out that the preparation period for the filming lasted 4.5 months; pre-production rehearsals - three days; in total, 150 shooting shifts and 31 weeks of the production period in the territory of five US states, 3,000 camera installations were required; more than 1,000 hours of film footage were shot and more than 1,000,000 man-hours spent.

Congratulations to the winners!
