The United Arab Emirates approved a visa-free regime with Russia

In the United Arab Emirates, new visa rules for travelers and workers have been adopted, as well as a visa-free regime with Russia has been approved.

The Cabinet of Ministers of the UAE, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, has made a number of strategic decisions regarding visa regulations and insurance of foreign workers in the private sector.

Among other things, the Cabinet of Ministers approved an agreement between the Government of the UAE and the Government of the Russian Federation on the mutual exemption of citizens of the UAE and the Russian Federation from visa requirements.

The Cabinet of Ministers also took a number of measures to simplify the visa regime for visitors, residents, families and people who have exceeded their stay in the UAE on an existing visa. In particular, a decision was made to provide people who exceeded the period of stay with a visa with the opportunity to voluntarily leave the country without a prohibitive mark in their passport (the so-called "ban"). Also, a new six-month visa will be introduced for job seekers who have exceeded their visa requirements but want to work in the country.

Among the changes in the housing system, it is planned to extend for two years the period of residence for parents living in care after graduation from the university.

A new decision was also made to exempt transit passengers from all fees during the first 48 hours of stay in the country. A transit visa can be extended for up to 96 hours for a fee of 50 dirhams ($ US 13.6). Getting a transit visa is possible at passport control at airports in the UAE.

As for people who illegally entered the UAE, they will have the opportunity to voluntarily leave with a prohibitive seal (the so-called ban banning entry into the UAE) for two years after providing a valid return ticket.

Persons wishing to renew or renew their visa will now be able to do this without unnecessary problems - for this they will not need to leave and re-enter the country.

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on empowering people with special needs and allowed them access to the labor market. The resolution provides them with the necessary support for equal employment opportunities in different sectors in accordance with government social development programs.

The Cabinet of Ministers also adopted an agreement between the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Bureau of International Exhibitions on the privileges and benefits provided to official participants of Expo-2020 in Dubai.

The Cabinet of Ministers has ratified two air transport agreements between the government of the UAE and the government of the Republic of Guinea, as well as the government of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved a series of agreements on mutual protection of investments between the Government of the UAE and the Government of the Republic of Rwanda, the Government of the Republic of Uganda and the Government of the Republic of Colombia. Along with this, double taxation avoidance and income tax avoidance agreements were approved with the governments of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Rwanda and Turkmenistan.
