Emirates gives passengers theater points

Emirates Airlines gives out virtual reality glasses in the lounges of Dubai Airport.

Dubai, UAE. Emirates Airline, the national airline of the UAE, offers passengers to watch movies in virtual reality glasses, which are now issued in the lounges of Dubai International Airport: in the business-class lounge (Concourse B) in April and in the first-class lounge (Concourse B) in May .

Using popular glasses with Skylight Theater headphones, passengers waiting for a flight will be able to watch 3D and 2D films, documentaries and panoramic videos. Innovation is part of Emirates’s policy of improving service both at the airport and during flight.

When using glasses, an image on a wide-screen screen will appear in front of the passenger, which no one can see, except for the owner of the gadget. The device will provide full visual and audio isolation from other passengers. Battery capacity provides eight hours of continuous movie viewing, and up to 40 HD pictures can be stored in memory.

The service is free, and in the near future Emirates plans to introduce this service in all seven branded lounges of Dubai International Airport.
