New Bridge to Dubai's Financial Center Road Opens in January

The bridge from Al Khail Road to the Financial Center Road will open in early 2018 in Dubai.

The bridge linking Al Khail Road and the Financial Center Road in Dubai will open in early January, said Emtar Emperor Almar Thayer, head of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), on Saturday.

"The project includes the construction of a two-lane one-way bridge with a length of 1270 meters, a width of 11 to 15 meters, built on single columns crossing the Dubai Canal," he said.

The bridge extends from the intersection of Ras Al Khor Road-Al Khail Road. He adds two 480-meter lanes to the next road to provide direct traffic from Dubai-Al Ain Road to Al Khail Road over Financial Center Road.

The project will facilitate traffic on Financial Center Road, which will reduce the load on Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevards intersections.

The bridge will increase the capacity of the road to 4.5 thousand cars per hour during peak hours and ease pressure on the road network.

Works include the creation of the parking lot entrance of the extended part of Dubai Mall. The construction of this bridge as a whole is taking into account the expansion of the shopping center.
