Ma.Gr.Ig.Al.- this is in Russian

Do not look in the explanatory dictionary for this word and do not confuse it with madrigal - a comic love poem-compliment. Ma.Gr.Ig.Al. - This is an abbreviation of the initial letters of the names of participants in the musical “double” duet. True, since its inception, the composition of the collective has changed somewhat, but they did not change the name, which at once became the famous decoration of the Philharmonic collections of the Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk.

Concerts organized by pianist Elena von Heifen have long been loved by the Emirate audience. Approaching the process in an extraordinary and creative way, Elena invites talented artists from different countries to perform. This time we were waiting for another miracle and it happened. Even it didn’t start as usual. In the lobby in front of the entrance to the concert hall, in an intimate twilight, the smart audience happily posed for the photographers of the numerous media, languidly sipped cool fresh juices, biting them with exquisite canapes, and conducted idle conversations, many of which began with a phrase full of reverence: "Today at the concert Sheikh Nahayyan Mubarak Al-Nahyan, Minister of Education of the UAE will be present. "

Sheikh really honored with his presence the performance of St. Petersburg musicians, showing a genuine interest in their art. The magnificent performing skills of the musicians and the tastefully selected repertoire of the concert did not leave any spectator indifferent. The creator and leader of the “double” duet Igor Ponomarenko (domra alt) rallied the musicians into one living organism, distinguished by a sense of style, intonational coherence and artistry.

Among the quartet participants - Maxim Tolstykh (prima balalaika) - a graduate of the St. Petersburg Conservatory and winner of international competitions; Artyom Kuznetsov (button accordion) - a hereditary musician, also a graduate of the conservatory of the northern capital, a participant in international competitions in Russia, Germany, Italy, Holland; Stanislav Tishkevich (double bass) - worked as a concertmaster at the Musical Theater of St. Petersburg, and is fluent in other stringed instruments (violin, guitar).

The unexpected combination of the Russian balalaika, domra and button accordion with a symphonic double bass does not create the impression of a rollicking "nationality", but rather gives the ensemble some chamberness. The concert program is a classic in the original arrangement. Classical works by Debussy, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Rossini, Sviridov, Shchedrin, variations on the theme of "Carmen" by Bizet harmoniously switched to the work of masters of modern music - Dunaevsky, Shalov, Tsyganov ... Brightness, talent, expression of musicians ignites the audience, the public writes separate numbers to mobile phones phones and applauds, chanting "bravo."

In Igor Ponomarenko, from a dynamic and expressive game, the string on the domra suddenly breaks, while in Maxim on the balalaika, the string breaks from the stake. A small hitch with replacing the strings on the instruments ... And the analogy with Paganini comes to mind. The concert is over, charming girls present fragrant bouquets to the artists, photographers take final pictures. Such an amazing aftertaste remains in the soul - a little funny, a little sad, transparent and academic. In an interview with reporters, Igor Ponomarenko expressed his attitude to creativity: “It would be ridiculous to play Russian folk music on our instruments. I wanted fine work ... After all, in our material world all kinds of unnecessary trinkets are sweeter than my heart. And my age is close to this music.” Silver Age "- this is generally the age of those over thirty."

Summer in the Emirates is not rich in events, so the June concert will remain in the hearts of the audience for a long time. The moonlight music of Debussy will be inspired by a starry night, Mozart’s 40th symphony will give confidence in everyday life, and Georgiy Sviridov’s “Blizzard” will arouse romantic feelings. Music always accompanies us through life.
