Dubai's Uber fleet replenishes with Tesla premium electric cars

The Uber taxi call service in Dubai has added 50 Tesla electric vehicles to its fleet.

Uber in partnership with Dubai Taxi Corporation on Sunday announced an exclusive offer to order electric vehicles in the UAE.

At the first stage, Uber will add 50 new Tesla premium cars available for ordering in Dubai using the app.

Starting on Tuesday, October 10, the UberONE option will be available for users in the Uber application, with which it will be possible to place an order. The joint initiative aims to help Dubai become the smartest city in the world and support the Green Economy initiative.

Electric vehicles are designed to reduce air pollution and noise, as well as operating costs for partner drivers. The introduction of the electric vehicle fleet in the Uber app will also lay the foundation for a sustainable, long-term, technological solution, which the smart cities of the future are striving for.

Chris Free, general manager of Uber UAE, said: “At Uber, we are constantly improving our offers and looking for ways to provide a new and innovative experience at the touch of a button. We are extremely pleased to be the exclusive partner for this elite electric car park in Dubai ... We will continue to work hand in hand with Dubai Taxi Corporation, bringing innovative infrastructure solutions to Dubai and developing the city’s intelligent mobile ecosystem. ”
