LX9500: the first 3D TV

The South Korean company LG Electronics has introduced a series of 3D-TVs LX9500.

The device is made in a new design style called INFINIA, it is 22.3 mm thick and has a very thin screen border - 16 mm. However, no design is the main advantage of the LX9500.

The manufacturer proudly calls its new product the industry's first 3D-TV with a fundamentally new screen backlight structure, also called Full LED. The LED panel is located directly behind the liquid crystal matrix. The 55-inch LX9500 uses a backlight panel with 1,200 LEDs. This approach allows you to achieve a higher image brightness compared to traditional solutions and get a much better picture.

Another feature of the LX9500 is its support for Multi Picture Format, a three-dimensional image format used by the recently launched Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W1 digital 3D cameras. To view on a conventional TV, such photos require conversion on a computer, but the LX9500 allows you to view 3D photos directly from a camera connected to it. Thus, the LX9500 was the first MPO-enabled TV.

The novelty has already entered the UAE market. Two models are available for buyers with a screen diagonal of 47 and 55 inches at a price of 12,999 dirhams (US $ 3,551) and 17,999 dirhams (US $ 4,917), respectively.
