The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, who heads the Russian delegation at the IDEX-2017 exhibition, said on Monday that Russia and the UAE have agreed to jointly develop the fifth-generation fighter project based on the MiG-29. This is a light fighter, the minister said.

“Colleagues showed interest in the possible delivery of the Su-35, held negotiations in this part, we will discuss in more detail,” he said.

According to him, Moscow is counting on the conclusion of an agreement that began today.

“The most significant event over the past two days is the signing of an agreement with the United Arab Emirates in the field of military-industrial cooperation,” the minister said.
