Montegrappa: dedication to Yuri Gagarin

Montegrappa has released a series of unique pens dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the first manned space flight, performed by Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.

50 years ago, on April 12, 1961, a man made his first flight into space. The Soviet astronaut was called Yuri Gagarin. 108 minutes of flight, to which no one had ever ventured before, overnight made Gagarin one of the most famous people in the world, a hero of the 20th century. His name and contribution to the development of mankind and space exploration have not been forgotten so far.

The world-famous first Italian brand for the production of exclusive writing instruments Montegrappa, founded 99 years ago, decided to perpetuate the 50th anniversary of the first manned space flight. Her craftsmen created a limited collection of pens The Montegrappa Yuri Gagarin Pen.

The image of Yuri Gagarin is engraved on the handle’s body along with interplanetary space “motifs” above and below the bas-relief. The cap of the pen depicts the coat of arms of the USSR. The pocket clip is equipped with a rotating ball, which allows you to easily and freely fix and remove the handle. In addition, the cap shows the silhouette of the monument to Yuri Gagarin, installed in Moscow in 1980 in the park of the same name.

The fountain pen has a built-in piston-filling mechanism through which ink enters a two-tone pen made of 18-carat gold with an ebonite feeder.

Ballpoint and fountain pens are packed in gift cases made of wood. The case cover is decorated with a metal plate with the face of Yuri Gagarin engraved on it and a commemorative inscription in Russian. The fountain pen case also includes a free bottle of ink.

The limited collection of pens "The First Man in Space. Yuri Gagarin" consists of: 1961 silver ballpoint pens, 1961 silver fountain pens, and 50 ballpoint and 50 fountain pens made of 18 carat gold.
