DTCM predicts steady growth in Dubai cruise industry metrics

According to the forecast of the Department of Tourism and Commercial Marketing of Dubai for 2011-2015, the number of cruise passengers arriving in Dubai will increase annually by 50 thousand people.

It is expected that the number of passengers arriving in Dubai during the cruise season of this year, involving a total of 120 liners, can reach 425 thousand people. In 2012, according to DTCM forecasts, the number of cruise ships flying to Dubai will increase to 135, and the number of passengers to 475 thousand; in 2013, these figures will be, respectively, 150 vessels and 525 thousand passengers, in 2014 - 165 and 575 thousand, and in 2015 - 180 and 625 thousand.

Such a steady increase in the performance of the cruise industry in the emirate of Dubai DTMC predicts, based on the results of the 2010 season, when the number of cruise liners arriving at the ports of the emirate, compared to the previous year, increased by 26 units to 103 vessels, and the number of passengers increased by 128 thousand reaching 390 thousand people.
