The 31st international exhibition of IT-technologies GITEX was held in Dubai

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and ruler of Dubai, opened the 31st Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX 2011) on October 9 at the Dubai Exhibition and Congress Center. The opening ceremony of the exhibition, along with Sheikh Muhammad, was honored by Sheikh Hamdan bin Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, and other officials. During the 3-hour study tour, Sheikh Mohammed visited the stands of local and international participants, including the stand of the largest telecommunications company Etisalat in the UAE, as well as Du, Yahsat, Dubai Silicon Oasis, the UAE Telecommunications Supervision Authority (TRA), Blackberry, Kaspersky, Huawei, Motorolla, Panasonic and many others.

Representatives of the companies visited by Sheikh Mohammed at the stands briefly told him about the latest achievements, products and services of these companies in the development of the IT industry. In the pavilion of the Office of the SEZ Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), a new DSO investment project was presented, which is expected to attract leading European and American technology companies to Dubai. They will be led by RIT University (Rochester University of Technology). The cost of this project is estimated at US $ 40 million.

Recall that the GITEX exhibition is the largest and most important event in the information and communication technology industry in the world. Traditionally, it takes place at the Dubai Exhibition and Congress Center.
