Hotel operator Jumeirah Group doubles the number of its hotels

By the beginning of 2012, the Jumeirah Group, a major Dubai hotel operator, intends to double its number of hotels, both in the UAE and in the world.

"We are going to open new hotels in Kuwait, Mallorca and Azerbaijan," said Gerald Lawles, executive chairman of the Jumeirah Group, during the Middle East Investment Summit, an international investment summit in Dubai. “Over the course of 14 months, we will double the number of hotels under our management. At the moment we are discussing several more potential projects, some of which are in Europe. Thus, by the end of the first quarter of 2012, the Jumeirah Group portfolio will have, in total difficulty, 20 hotels. "

The company Jumeirah Group, constantly competing with major hotel chains such as Mandarin Oriental and Four Seasons, has recently opened new hotels under its brand in Frankfurt, the Maldives and Shanghai. In Dubai, it already has a rather extensive portfolio, which includes such world famous hotels as Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah and others.

It should be noted that the average daily room rate of Jumeirah hotel rooms in Dubai increased by 5% compared to the previous year and amounts to 1700 dirhams (US $ 462.8), occupancy rate - by 6% and amounts to 80.5%. According to Mr. Lawles, 20% of Jumeirah hotel guests are from the UK, 14% from Russia. Recently, there has been an increase in the number of tourists from China.
