The director of the school was appointed Marie Vallane Del, who began her career in the Richemont Group since 1986. Naturally, jewelers are important not only for the world of jewelry, but also in the production of modern watches, so Franco Cologni, chairman of the Fine Watchmaking Foundation, joined the honorary committee of the new school. Also, places on the committee were: Helen David-Weil, chairman of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris; Eileen Guggenheim, specialist in art history; philosopher Michel Serre; Louvre Vice President Henri Loiret; Creative Director of Van Cleef & Arpels Nicolas Bos; collector Suzanne Tennenbaum and Alan-Dominic Perrand, Chairman of the Cartier for the Art Foundation for Contemporary Art.
The school will train first-class jewelers, instilling in them the best traditions of Van Cleef & Arpels. Its graduates will be in demand not only in jewelry-making companies, but also for decorating watches with precious stones. Indeed, today such watches are very popular.
